Hi, let me welcome you to my site.
Have ever had to deal with sudden attacks of anxiety? Well I have and I know all to well what it is like to spend many years of my life searching for ways of overcoming panic attacks.
I remember having uncontrollable thoughts of being worried for no reason, shortness of breath, and jittery sensations in my hands. The more I had these feelings the worse it would get. I was scared and honestly I didn’t like how these attacks would happen over and over again.
Panic attacks also became a social destroyer for me. I like to get out and be around people and this definitely set me back while trying to enjoy my life.
I learned that the worst thing which was keeping the anxiety there was the fear of having another panic attack. So, the whole thing was feeding on itself in a cycle of fear that got worse every time. My life was crumbling before my eyes and there seemed to be nothing to break this cycle of fear and panic attacks.
I felt that if I wanted to overcome these panic attacks that I need to find a legitimate remedy. I went to several psychiatrists and psychologists in a very short period of time. Yes, they were expensive but I felt that I had to do something in order to overcome my panic disorder.
The results I got weren’t very good ones. For example, the drugs the psychiatrists prescribed to me made me dizzy, nauseous and apparently didn’t do much to cure my anxiety symptoms. I was very discouraged by this.
I also tried various techniques I learned from other sufferers but they didn’t seem work for me either. Probably one of the best things I did learn to do to clam my attacks was always concentrating on enjoyable vacations I had taken in the past. I don’t know why that helped a little but it did.
Well take heart, I did finally come across a program which helped me overcome my panic attacks! It could work for your also.

Overcoming Panic Attacks – 3 Useful Tips That Can Help You
Overcoming panic attacks is a common challenge for many of us. It is estimated to be faced by over 19 million people in the United States alone. A panic attack can hit many of us at any time and can be quite debilitating. Armed with the right tips and techniques, however, you can overcome a panic attack and control how you respond to the overwhelming anxiety that triggers them.
Recognition
Recognizing the activity patterns or triggers that cause a panic attack is the first step in overcoming it. You should not try to ignore or fight a panic attack – that could make your anxiety level even higher and increase the length and severity of the panic attack even more. Most experts recommend that you brace yourself for the emotions and behaviors that are coming rather than fight to suppress them.
Just because you suffer from panic attacks doesn’t mean you can’t overcome them like I was able to.
Levels of Anxiety
As you learn to recognize things that trigger the anxiety, you also need to start evaluating how severe your anxiety is. You can give yourself a rating level just before, during and after an attack. This is a simple gauge to see how you are responding, both internal (feelings) and external, during each panic attack. As you go through the process, rate your anxiety level, with 1 being mild and 5 being completely stressed out. If your anxiety level rises, seek out alternative options and coping techniques that match your anxiety level. As you assess each level of anxiety in a panic attack, you can deal with the transitions better.
Coping Techniques
There are various coping techniques that can be used at the beginning of a panic attack. Some include incorporating relaxation techniques, and stress reduction relaxation exercises. One of the reasons for monitoring your levels of anxiety is to help you evaluate which technique works best for you and your situations.
1. The best technique that works for me, is positive self talk. I need to get myself back into a good positive state of mind. I need to keep reminding myself that the situation is only temporary and only for a short time and then it will be over. Some times I think of the fun things I am going to do next, or the great places I am going to next, the fantastic restaurant I am going to later, etc.
2. The next technique for me is relaxation. This can be as simple as grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting down and just relaxing for a few minutes. If you can’t do something like that don’t worry, try some calm slow deep breathing. Calm breathing you can even do while you are in a meeting with your boss! Find some simple things which are calming for you.
3. The third technique I use is self assurance. Since I am having a panic attack, my body has sensed my fear. The symptoms that are occurring are because I am in a state of fear and my body is trying to protect itself. I mentally assure myself that I am only feeling this sensation and what ever the situation is, that it will not harm me, and I put myself in a positive mood.
